ABOUT

Early Journey and Foundation

Born in India and raised in a disciplined environment, Lakhvinder Singh developed an early interest in storytelling and visual narrative. Before entering regional cinema, he worked across different formats and roles within the entertainment industry, gaining practical exposure to direction, scripting, and production management.

This early phase gave him a strong technical foundation and an understanding of how stories translate from paper to screen—skills that later became central to his filmmaking approach.

Commitment to Rajasthani Cinema

In 2008, when Rajasthani cinema was largely inactive and commercially uncertain, Lakhvinder Singh made a deliberate decision to work in the region. At a time when most filmmakers were moving toward mainstream industries, he chose to invest his energy in a cinema that needed rebuilding.

Since then, he has written and directed more than 11 films, many of which contributed to re-establishing theatrical releases for Rajasthani-language films after decades of decline.

His films are rooted in:

  • Rajasthani culture and language

  • Social realities and lived experiences

  • Strong narrative structure

  • Emotional authenticity

Rather than following formulaic commercial trends, his work focuses on realism, character-driven storytelling, and cultural identity.
